Also, close to the end of the track, at Nahabir, there is a forest with a children's playground, restrooms, water fountains and picnic facilities.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"direction: ltr;\"><strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Getting there:<\/span><\/strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> Those arriving from the north, take Road 232 south from Sa'ad Junction, pass kibbutz Alumim and turn to Kibbutz Be'eri. Those coming from the south, pass kibbutz Re'im, and after about twenty meters, turn right and ascend to the observation point on the dirt road.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"direction: ltr;\"><strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Opening hours:<\/span><\/strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> Open. Free of charge.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"direction: ltr;\"><strong>WAZE &#8211;<\/strong> Bitronot Be'eri<\/p>\n<p style=\"direction: ltr;\"><strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">About the site:<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"direction: ltr;\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">A remarkable nature reserve where you can find plant species unique to the place (endemic) and local animals. An excellent site for hiking trails of various lengths suitable for all ages and full of flowers.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"direction: ltr;\"><strong>What can you see?<\/strong> A small and surprising nature reserve full of dozens of species of plants and small animals, Be'eri's first settlement site, a view of Gaza and a lovely playground.<\/p>\n<p style=\"direction: ltr;\"><strong style=\"font-size: 1rem;\">Tour:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"direction: ltr;\">Observatory &#8211; from this Bird's-Eye Lookout, one can see the Gaza Strip, Kibbutz Be'eri, Kibbutz Alumim, agricultural fields, and can tour by bike in the area and more&#8230;<\/p>\n<p style=\"direction: ltr;\">The ravines are actually remnants of the &quot;Be'er Sheva Canyon&quot; estuary that drained the streams from the Eastern Negev to the Mediterranean Sea millions of years ago. The reserve features various soil types and fossils typical of this period of the retreat of the Tethys Sea.<\/p>\n<p style=\"direction: ltr;\"><span style=\"font-size: 1rem;\">Nahabir &#8211; Old Be'eri. Established as part of the 11 points &#8211; i.e., 11 settlements founded in a large operation to settle the Northern Negev on Yom Kippur eve, between October 5 and 6, 1946, initiated by the Jewish Agency. The campaign's purpose was to force the inclusion of the Negev region within the borders of the future Jewish state.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"direction: ltr;\"><span style=\"font-size: 1rem;\">Nahabir was the name of a plot of land purchased from the hands of a young widow from Gaza.
