Friday, February 13, 2026, 8:00 AM – 2:00 PM Kibbutz Dorot

The KKL-JNF Anemone March, recognized as one of the country’s premier public marching events for over a decade, returns!

The marching routes will depart from a gathering area on the outskirts of Kibbutz Dorot and traverse an open landscape adorned with a spectacular array of wildflowers, prominently featuring the red anemone. The eye feasts upon agricultural lands, fields, orchards, KKL forests, and verdant hills stretching to the horizon. Along the routes, you will encounter performers and surprises for the entire family. Perfect scenery and fresh air will contribute to a sense of relaxation and renewal. Come march with us!

A Bit of History… Dorot is a kibbutz in the western Northern Negev, near the city of Sderot, within the jurisdiction of the Sha’ar HaNegev Regional Council, alongside Route 334 leading from Sderot toward Beit Kama. Dorot is the first kibbutz in the Negev, established during Hanukkah in 1941 on land purchased from residents of the neighboring village of Huj by immigrants from Germany, joined by groups from Israel, Latvia, and Czechoslovakia. Kibbutz members participated in late 1946 in establishing the 11 points in the Negev. With the outbreak of the War of Independence, the Negev Squadron was stationed near the kibbutz. The kibbutz engages in industry and agriculture.

A Moment of Nature… The area abounds with green expanses, seasonal blooms, and wild vegetation. Similarly, there is a rich diversity of wildlife including Negev gazelles, hyenas, porcupines, wolves, and more. The area integrates values of nature, humanity, and environment—this is the secret of its charm.
